Sustainable management and eight basic policies
We will prescribe eight basic policies regarding “corporate governance,” “human rights,” “health and safety,” “environment,” “purchasing,” “quality,” “local contribution activities,” and “information security” and proceed with sustainable management from a long-term perspective in accordance with “Spirits of Foundation" and "Management Philosophy” that our group has held up.
1.Corporate governance policy
- We will also improve our management in consideration of establishing a risk management system and thoroughly implementing corporate ethics and compliance.
- We will improve and operate our system by which the effectiveness of the management function is secured.
- We will improve and operate our system by which lawful and appropriate management is monitored in order to secure the soundness of the management.
- We will consider the profits of the stakeholders and work toward establishing an appropriate cooperative relationship with them.
- We will make a disclosure on the basis of laws and regulations appropriately and also work on providing information, which is not on the basis of laws and regulations.
2.Human rights policy
- We will respect international norms and promote efforts to respect human rights to prevent the human rights of all the people on whom our business activities have an influence from being violated.
- We will strive to comply with laws and regulations and the principles of human rights, respect the human rights of all the stakeholders, and exclude the violation of human rights such as harassment, child labor, and forced labor.
- We will arrange a system to make improvement in a continuous manner to prevent ourselves from participating in the violation of human rights, and if it turns out that a negative effect with respect to human rights either in a direct or indirect way is caused or encouraged, we will have a dialogue with the people concerned and work for the relief of victims and for correction through an appropriate procedure.
- We will educate our executives and employees appropriately in order to make them understand this policy and carry out this policy in all the business activities effectively.
- We will proceed with dialogues and consultations with the stakeholders sincerely, establish a fiduciary relationship, and create open atmospheric culture to comply with international norms with regard to human rights and respect human diversity.
3.Health and safety policy
- We will conduct activities while the safety of local society, business connections, and intracompany matters is secured.
- We will comply with laws and regulations such as the Industrial Safety and Health Act, the Labor Standards Act, and the Fire Service Act.
- We will implement risk assessment to strive for reduction in accidents.
- We will deal with changes in the natural environment and society, and continuously promote the activities for health and safety with participation by all.
- We will aim at improving the awareness by making this policy well known and conducting safety education, and improve working environment where our employees can work safely and securely.
4.Environmental policy
- We will try to minimize the effects on the earth, society, and local environment, and promote human-friendly and earth-friendly activities to realize sustainable society while harmonizing with business activities.
- We will comply with laws and regulations regarding the environment, ordinances, and regional agreements by placing importance on social and moral values.
- We will conduct analysis of the present situation and improvement about reduction in the burden on the environment, sustainable resource use, and so on, and work on development, manufacturing, and provision of environment-friendly products, merchandise, and service.
- We will assess the effects of our business activities on the environment, set the target of reducing the burden on the environment within the technically and economically possible range, and continuously conduct improvement activities.
- We will promote continuous improvement with participation by all by making the environmental policy well known and improving the awareness in the company.
5.Purchasing policy
- We will aim for mutual prosperity with our business connections and establish a fiduciary and reciprocal relationship even in purchasing activities in order to keep ourselves a corporation that can be trusted by our stakeholders.
- We will conduct appropriate purchasing activities on the basis of fair, transparent, and free competitions as well as place importance on observance of the related laws and regulations and social and moral values.
- We will appropriately handle and carefully manage information about our business connections that can be obtained through purchasing activities.
- We will equally open the door to all the business connections, irrespective of domestic or foreign client, always pay attention to new information and sources, and positively adopt materials that we require.
- We will expect our business connections to make corporate efforts including the quality, safety, price, delivery deadline, stable supply, technological development capability, after-sales service, and cooperation for various survey requests with regard to procurement products, and to have a corporate attitude such as efforts and a management system regarding CSR (corporate social responsibility) such as human rights, working environment, compliance, and environmental preservation. We will select our business connections and procurement products in consideration of the matters mentioned above.
6.Quality policy
- We will sincerely make efforts to provide our products, merchandise, and service that can meet our customers’ expectation, and promote our business activities that will gain our customers’ trust.
- We will observe the operation standards in all the processes of business activities, and deliver safety and security to our customers.
- We will grasp the supply chain irrespective of inside or outside the company, record and analyze the facts in all the processes, and promote quality improvement activities with participation by all.
- We will catch a change in requests from society or customers as soon as possible, and promote continuous improvement.
- We will make this policy well known and conduct education, and try to develop human resources as a “manufacturing company.”
7.Policy of local contribution activities
- We will contribute to revitalization and development of a local area through local contribution activities and participation in planning of a community.
- We will work on advancement of activities regarding sustainable local development and regarding culture, tradition, art, and sports through our business.
- We will strive for reducing potential damage from natural disasters in cooperation with local disaster prevention activities.
8.Information security policy
- We will establish an information management system handling information that we have possessed because of business activities, which has devices or facilities handling information, and provide service to protect information assets that we have possessed, and protect the information assets from illegal invasion, loss, theft, leakage, falsification, breakage, use disturbance, etc.
- We will comply with the laws and regulations related to information security, social norms, and the requirements and obligation regarding security matters in the contract with customers.
- We will arrange the organization system regarding information security and work on continuous improvement. In case that a problem occurs, we will investigate the cause immediately and make efforts to minimize the damage.
- We will put the intracompany rules and documents of contracts with customers regarding information security in order, conduct education and training in a continuous manner to improve the awareness of security.
